Manitou Springs High School

Mustang News - December 10th, 2021

From The Principal...

It is hard to believe that we are already approaching mid-December. We are heading into our last week of school before Winter Break, and finals are on the minds of our students. I will again share the schedule for the end of next week. Now that we have reached the mid-point of the school year, I want to remind families and students to always feel free to reach out to our staff, counselors, front office support, or administrators with any concerns, frustrations, successes, or celebrations. We want to help when needed, while also recognizing accomplishments. I am proud of our student body as they have progressed through the school year thus far. Good luck with your finals Mustangs!

From The Counseling Department...

Have you heard about the Career Start Program at PPCC (Pikes Peak Community College)? The Career Start Program is a concurrent enrollment offering at Pikes Peak Community College that provides high school students with opportunities to earn both college and high school elective credit in a vocational setting and immersion to the college environment and expectations. Through this program, students participate in career technical programs that provide hands-on learning environments at the PPCC Centennial Campus as part of their regular school day (Monday- Friday). Students who participate in Career Start attend PPCC in the morning and return to MSHS to complete their high school courses in the afternoon. More detailed information can be obtained through the counseling center at MSHS. This opportunity is available to current 10th and 11th grade students for the 2022-23 school year and involves a multi-step application process. Interested students must sign up in the counseling office no later than January 19th, 2022. Please see the email that was sent out 12/5/2021 from the MSHS Counseling office for more detailed information.
