Stationery

We are purchasing new books for next year and we don't believe that parents will need to have these books covered. They are made with a sturdier cover.

If your child brought books home that were unused or had minimal use please bring them to school with your child on the first day and we will see if we can use them.

All school stationery is purchased through the school at very cheap rates. Families are not required to purchase books ready for the new school year.

SCHOOL POOL

The school pool is now open. The cost of a key this year is $40 and $10 bond if you require a new key. I will charge your stationery account for the key and if you don't require one please return to the school as soon as possible. Please ensure when using the school pool you follow the pool rules and if you there is something you need to report please call the school and leave a message on the school phone as this is checked regularly.

SHARE THE ROAD

We were fortunate enough to have an ex student - Richard Cook, arrange and assist with presenting the above programme. Please have a chat to your children about what they learnt and how to keep safe. With the increased volume of log trucks on the road, we hope that this program will help ensure the safety of the kids who live down the country roads where the logs are coming from.

Many thanks need to go to GJ Sole Transport Ltd for supplying the truck and driver, McCarthy Transport ltd for the presentation and guiding the kid’s through the truck, China Forestry Group NZ Ltd (Who own Te Wera forest) for supplying the vests and PF Olsen Ltd (who manage Te Wera forest) for arranging the day.

Bring your Own Device

Next year we will be using the new technology curriculum which will involve us getting creative with devices and will mean kids will use them more effectively and creatively. If you are thinking of buying your child a device for school Noel Leeming and Harvey Norman both have good packages available. Attached are two links with some advice and helpful hints around devices.
