School Nutrition: Student IDs

As of Wednesday, January 15, 2020, all students going through campus cafeteria lines will need to enter a number zero, 0, before their student ID number. The Child Nutrition software will not recognize a student’s ID number if they do not enter 0 before their ID number. For example, 123456 must now be entered as 0123456.

If parents are creating a new SchoolCafé account or adding another student to an existing SchoolCafé account, they must add a 0 before their ID number. If the student already has an account established with SchoolCafé, no action is required on the parents end. Students with the new District assigned ID badges will be able to scan their barcodes at their campus point of sale system (POS) gray PIN pads starting Wednesday, January 15, 2020.

If you have any questions, please contact Child Nutrition at (281) 634-1855.

Info from FBISD Child Nutrition Regarding Pork Products

The diversity of our school community makes it particularly important that we are as communicative as possible about everything that we do at SMS. Therefore, please take note about information recently received from FBISD Child Nutrition about which products prepared in our cafeterias contain pork. This comes up each year, and we wanted all parents to be informed about what does and does not contain pork. See list below of menu items and what they are actually made of:

  • Breakfast Sausage Pizza (turkey sausage)
  • Hot Dogs (beef hot dogs)
  • Sausage Patties (chicken sausage)
  • Ham Sandwiches (turkey ham)
  • Ham on Chef Salads (turkey ham)
  • Pepperoni Pizza (turkey & beef pepperoni)
  • Mega Meat Pizza (PORK)
  • Sausage on a Bun (PORK)
