A Little About Me
By training, I am an Occupational Therapist. I've been working with kids with disabilities since I was about 16 and my professional experience spans inpatient adolescent psychiatry to developmental pre-school, First Steps early intervention to adult transition services and public education, grades pre-k through 12. I went to the University of Indianapolis for my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. I have two sons, ages 17 and 12. My husband, Ryan, is an Archaeologist and we live in Brownsburg.
I am SUPER excited to be joining the Danville team this school year and become a part the Danville Difference!
20 Tips to Help De-escalate Interactions With Anxious or Defiant Students
Behavior Contingency Mapping
What are behavior contingency maps? Contingency behavior maps show a visual representation of engaging in appropriate and inappropriate behaviors and the consequences each of the behaviors result in. These maps follow the ABC pattern of behavior (antecedent, behavior, consequence). First the antecedent (or environmental trigger) is depicted, then the appropriate and inappropriate behavior options, and finally the consequence for each response. The two paths depict the two choices the individual can make regarding his/her behavior.

The MindShift podcast
Season four of the MindShift Podcast is all about bringing joy back to learning and teaching. We asked our audience of parents and educators what matters most to them and created six episodes that exist at the intersection of issues parents care deeply about that educators are trying to solve. This podcast highlights how educators are addressing some of the trickiest problems in education with heart and creativity. We dive into anxiety, the importance of play, school lunch and so much more.
