Rodeo Team
Earn a degree while competing in rodeo events throughout the Great Plains Regions of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. The Rodeo Team travels throughout the Great Plains competing against other colleges and universities all hoping to qualify for the College National Finals Rodeo. Practices are held during the week and rodeos are held on five weekends in the Fall and five weekends in the Spring. If you like to rodeo, this is the team for you!
Practices
The Aggie Rodeo Team practices on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Practices may take place at Mill Park Arena if the weather is nice, or at the indoor facilities located on the NCTA campus. During practices, students are expected to help run the chute, push cattle, and clean up after their horses. Students are encouraged to work on their own individual events, as well as help out where needed with other events.
Rodeo Club
NCTA also offers a Rodeo Club to students who do not wish to travel around to rodeos. Students within the Rodeo Club are still required to show up to practices and meetings - however, these students are not required to travel to rodeos throughout the Great Plains Region. This is a great option for students who don't have a lot of rodeo experience or time, but wish to gain more knowledge and skills in this area.
