don't forget

Picture Retake Day is Tuesday, November 9th. If pictures are retaken you will have the choice between the original pictures and the retakes. If a student would like their picture retaken they will just have to go at the designated time and have it taken.

Additional photo opportunity

In-studio photography session available to students who missed picture day

District 191 students who missed getting their picture taken on picture day and picture retake day have another opportunity.

Kemmetmueller Photography is offering an in-studio photograph session from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 20. The studio is located at 18336 Minnetonka Blvd in Deephaven. No appointment is necessary.

Please note that this make-up day is specifically for families who missed both picture and retake days.

For more information about school photos, visit the Kemmetmueller Photography website.

Important Information

Vaccine info for 5-12 year olds

The webpage, mn.gov/vaxforkids, was created to be a resource for families to learn about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine for children and teens, understand what to expect when their child gets vaccinated, and why it is important to do so. The site will also help parents find the right vaccination experience and location for their child.

In addition to the webpage, two new videos were created featuring Minnesota pediatricians sharing information about the COVID-19 vaccine for children and why it is important to get kids vaccinated:

Also there are social graphics and translations are available on the Share Our Message page for use by schools and other community members to share this message.

MASK UP NICOLLET!

Reminder that all student, staff and visitors are required to wear a mask when inside our buildings. We have had many students coming daily without masks. Please help remind your child to bring a mask everyday!

Please see guidance below for choosing a mask. Gaiters, scarves, and ski masks are not substitutes for masks. Thank you for helping keep our Nicollet students and staff safe!

HEALTH REMINDER

If your student is experiencing any of the following symptoms, they MUST stay home from school.

  • Fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or higher

  • New cough or a cough that gets worse

  • Difficulty/hard time breathing

  • New loss of taste or smell

  • Sore throat

  • Nasal congestion/stuffy or runny nose

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Muscle pain

  • Extreme fatigue/feeling very tired

  • Severe/very bad headache

  • Chills

It’s essential that we all work together and stay vigilant so we can keep doing the things we want to do, including in-person learning, activities and athletics.

Additionally, please know that we follow the MN Dept. of Health Decision Tree and guidance when it comes to sending home students or staff with COVID-19-like symptoms. MDH says, "If a student or staff member becomes ill with COVID-19-like symptoms while in attendance, they should immediately be sent home, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status or prior history of disease." The decision tree indicates that if a student has at least one common symptom of COVID-19 or two less common symptoms, they need to be sent home immediately.

Here at NMS, we want to keep all of our students and staff safe and healthy and do what we can to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Following the MDH guidance is one of our tools for keeping kids and staff safe. We know this process, like many things COVID-19 related, can present challenges to families. We are here to help. Nurse Mjelleli can help provide resources for testing and vaccination and answer questions you may have. We know it's not easy, but with everyone's support, we can continue to keep our students and staff healthy!
