YES, WE ARE ALL TIRED OF MASKING, BUT ....
A MESSAGE FROM MR. COLLINS
I have something for you to consider— if possible, please take away your child’s cell phone. During my time as an administrator, I have only seen harm come from them. It is even worse in the elementary school. When our children use them to speak poorly of another, those words can be viewed over and over again, this deeply affects our kids. Often times, our children are faced with being insulted, teased, and even bullied. In many cases, the kids don’t say anything to their parents.
But we CAN put a stop to it by using parent controls to only allow our children’s cell phones to communicate with parent approved numbers. Each phone is different but you can put parent controls on most phones.
Want to verify the damaging affect cell phones are having on out kids, try taking the phone away from your child for a week, a day, heck, even an hour. They act as though you are taking away their oxygen. They feel they cannot live without the phone.
Let’s keep our kids away from the damage these phones can cause as long as we can. Let them be kids, let them grow and mature. Their youth lasts just a short time and we should make it last as long as possible.
Christopher Collins, M.Ed.

Order the 2020-2021 SMM Yearbook Now
Would you like to recognize your children for their success in school this year? Place a congratulatory ad for his/her promotion? Would you like to advertise your business in a place where over 500 parents can see it?
It’s easy to create a recognition ad. Just send us a copy of your favorite photo and compose your message. While you’re thinking of what your ad will look like, also think about the size of the ad space. Select a horizontal or vertical format in a variety of sizes and costs. Take a look at the examples in our brochure. You can do the same thing for a business ad.
Please click on this link for information about placing ads our yearbook this year. https://yearbookavenue.jostens.com/sell/ad/offers.html
You design your own ad, but it must be in good taste and appropriate for a Catholic elementary school. If you have any questions, please contact Coach Gay in the school office.
UPDATE ON THE STEAM CAMP
We have extended the age for STEAM Campers to include those entering 7th grade. So, current sixth graders going into 7th grade may attend STEAM Camp this summer.
AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM FR. ED
ADULT CONFIRMATION
The sacrament of Confirmation is the formal sacrament of completing the three Sacraments of Initiation begun at baptism. For parents who are baptized Catholics not yet confirmed, being a confirmed Catholic adult is a sign of maturity in the practice of the Faith and a great way of modeling full participation in the life of the Church.
At this time we invite baptized Catholics to consider ‘signing up’ for receiving the sacrament of Confirmation.
Please call the church office to discuss the possibility of receiving the sacrament of Confirmation in the near future. 985-643-6124
Please pray for the families and friends of our SMM community who have asked for our prayers. If you would like us to pray for a loved one, please send Coach Gay an email: gknock@saintmm.org.

Please Pray for Our Priests
Here is a brief prayer that you may want to use:
Eternal Father, we lift up to you these and all the priests of the world. Sanctify them. Heal and guide them. Mold them into the likeness and holiness of your Son, Jesus, the Eternal High Priest. May their lives be pleasing tp you. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen
