Tuesday, May 23, 2017 is our LAST award ceremony of the 2016-17 school year. At 9:00AM in the cafeteria we will be celebrating wards both lunch periods and will include awards for "All Year" Perfect Attendance and Honor Roll, as well as the usual 9 weeks awards. As we have done all year, there is no need to sign-in at the from office prior to the ceremonies. We are so proud of all of our students and the hard work they have put into this inaugural year at LVIS.
Prefect Attendance: (Reminder From the Handbook)
Perfect Attendance Students in grades Kindergarten through 3rd Grade will be recognized for perfect attendance each nine weeks and for the school year. In order to be eligible for perfect attendance, a student must be present from 7:45am - 3:05 pm each school day in a nine-week period. Students who are tardy or who leave early will not be eligible for recognition for perfect attendance, unless a doctor’s note is provided excusing the early dismissal from school. Students who have earned perfect attendance for all four quarters will earn All-Year Perfect Attendance recognition.
Final Yearbook Announcement
The yearbook order was placed on May 15th for a total of 105! Thank you to everyone who ordered the first annual Intermediate Yearbook. You helped us to shatter our goal of 90 yearbooks. We did not order any extra yearbooks, and no orders will be taken from this point. The yearbooks are estimated to be delivered sometime in June. Mrs. Davis will send out a ParentLink notification when they yearbooks are delivered and ready for pick-up. Our plan is to have a "signing day" for the kids to come up and have their classmates autograph their yearbook and reconnect over the summer months. Watch your email and text messages for more information.

We would be happy to discuss goals for next year and what you can do this summer to boost skills and enhance the love of learning. Summer days can be long! When “I’m bored!” echoes across your home it may be time for a good book or a project that gets your child thinking creatively and having fun. Check out the summer schedule for the Lago Vista Library! They are kicking off the Summer Reading Club 2017 with a magic show on June 7 at 11:00am.
Our first year as a Lago Vista ISD campus has been exciting for me! I am so glad to be a part of Lago Vista Intermediate School. I have worked at all other levels so I know where our students have been and I know what lies ahead. I want to continue to use that perspective to support you as parents. Life can be an overwhelming challenge for kids. I encourage you to be that listening ear, that voice of reason even when emotions are high, and to hold strong to those boundaries you have set as a family. Kids of all ages benefit from knowing the adults around them will hold them accountable and will always support healthy behavior and positive decisions that guide them toward achieving their full potential as young adults! I am happy to share that journey with you, even for just a few years.
