We need your help in keeping our students safe at drop off and pick up
Afternoon pick up
A large number of our students are walking and riding their bikes home at the end of the day now that bus services have been suspended for the West Cypress Hills subdivision. We are in search of a crossing guard but until we find someone permanent, a staff member is stationed at the intersection of Sabino and Cypress Ranch Blvd. When a crossing guard is in the middle of the street holding up the STOP sign please stop and wait for our students to cross safely.
We also ask that parents who are picking up by vehicle (yes that means golf carts) use the car line. Sabino is a narrow road and with the number of students walking home and crossing the street, it is a safety concern for vehicles to park on that road during arrival and dismissal hours.
Morning Drop off
There has been an increased number of students being dropped off prior to 7:20. With staff not coming on duty until 7:20, students are left unattended if dropped off early. We ask that you please keep your child in the car until a staff member is on duty.
Curriculum Night - Asynchronous Event September 16
LTISD will be providing parents with an asynchronous Elementary Curriculum Night. In lieu of an in-person meeting, your child's teacher will send out communication on September 16, about curriculum, grading policies, contact information, class schedule, etc. Within the communication you receive, there will be a google form in which you can ask questions.
MORE FAQs about COVID protocols
If my child is symptomatic at home, what should I do?
People with COVID-19 have a wide range of reported symptoms - from mild
symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure
to the virus.
Parents should self-screen their children every day before coming to school. If your child is exhibiting symptoms, please keep your child home.
Self-screening with the following questions can help assess the risk that an individual has been exposed to COVID-19 and help determine when symptoms are more likely to be from COVID-19.
★ Have you recently begun experiencing any of the following symptoms
in a way that is not normal for you?
â—‹ Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal
to 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit
â—‹ Loss of taste or smell
â—‹ Cough
â—‹ Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
â—‹ Headache
â—‹ Chills
â—‹ Sore throat
â—‹ Muscle or body aches
â—‹ Diarrhea
â—‹ Fatigue
â—‹ Congestion or runny nose
â—‹ Nausea or vomiting
★ Have you had close contact with an individual who is test-confirmed
with COVID-19?
★ Have you been tested for COVID-19 and are currently awaiting test
results?
If my child is symptomatic at school, what happens?
I have a question about something I read in Tiger Talk.
