Virtual Learning Reminders
A learning activity from a Specialist has been assigned on a specific letter day for each grade level. Please see the schedule below. Tomorrow will be an E day.
Establishing a routine for your child during this extended closure, including the designation of an available workplace, will help provide structure and assist the transition to virtual learning.
We are here for you! Teachers will continue to communicate via Class Dojo, Google Classroom and @msdk12 email. They will be available to answer any questions and provide guidance between 10:00 a.m. and 2:20 p.m. each virtual school day. Don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or me if you have any questions or concerns.
I appreciate your support and flexibility as we are learning how to navigate these unprecedented times together. We ask that you remain in contact with your child's teacher or me if you have any questions or concerns. Although there is distance between us, our connections with our families and students remain strong.
I want to take a moment to thank our teachers for their collaborative efforts, creativity and hard work over the last couple of weeks as they prepared for virtual learning. I am proud to be a part of such dedicated and caring professionals.
I speak on behalf of the staff when I say we will greatly miss our students. Therefore, we look forward to staying connected in whichever way works for your family. I am sharing resources below you may find helpful. I hope you and your families remain healthy and strong.
What You Can Do to Keep You and Your Family Safe
It is important to remember that there are everyday preventative actions you can take to help limit the spread of COVID-19:
- Practice Social Distancing:
- Avoid close contact (keep a distance of 6 feet) with people, especially those who are coughing or sneezing.
- Avoid unnecessary physical contact – greet others with a smile, not a hand shake.
- Avoid attendance at crowded events and replace in-person gatherings with conference calls or web-based video conference alternatives.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water or alcohol-based hand sanitizer and rub for at least 20 seconds.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
- Cover your cough and sneeze into a tissue.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wear a facemask if you are sick.
How to Talk to Your Kids About Coronavirus
The social and emotional well being of our students and families is always a foremost concern.
