January 20, 2023
Good Afternoon Loveland High School Families,
A short but great week at LHS! The focus this week continued to be scheduling for the 23-24 school year. Please continue to work with your student to select classes for next year. If you have any questions please reach out to our counseling department.
A special thank you to our Hope Squad students and everyone who came out to support our Mental Health Awareness nights at the girls and boys basketball games this week! It was so great to see so many wearing purple and teal to support this great cause.
Have a great weekend,
Adam Reed, Brian Conatser, Mary Beth Corbin, and Rich Bryant

Important News from the Office of School Counseling
Attention Parents of LHS Juniors: Is your student interested in developing real-world skills during their senior year? Hoping to make them more marketable to colleges and employers? We have the opportunity for them! LHS is very excited to continue our partnership with area businesses/organizations to offer high school internships in the 2023-24 school year. These real-world experiences can truly help to bring dreams to life. Please see this link for details about this exciting opportunity - Loveland Tiger Pathways Internship Info
Feel free to contact your student's counselor with any questions. We are happy to help!
The College Credit Plus (CCP) program has been established by the Ohio Department of Higher Education to enhance students' college and career readiness and postsecondary options. The CCP program enables college-ready, 7-12 grade students who qualify for college admission to take college-level courses. Students may earn both high school and transcripted college credit upon successful completion of coursework. If you are interested in learning more about CCP, please come and join the LHS counselors for the annual CCP meeting on January 25, 2023, at 6:30 pm in the LHS Auditorium. We strongly encourage students to attend this event. There will be a brief overview of the program as well as tables set up with any of the local colleges being represented. The college representatives will be able to share their college-specific information. If you are unable to attend the meeting, there will be a presentation posted on the LHS College Credit Plus Google Site.
Attention juniors, sophomores and freshman: Now is the time to review your Four Year Graduation Plan. The effort to explore options, then make tentative plans is worth it as pathways to success unfold. We trust that this information can serve as a guide in the years to come.
Reviewing your plan annually is required by the Ohio Department of Education. Here are the steps that we use in advisory to complete this process:
+ Log into Naviance (from the "waffle" in Clever when in the student Google account), click on Self-Discovery then review the score report from the assessment that you took earlier this year; review any personally relevant career information.
+ Click on the title of careers that are most interesting to you; reflect on (or review) the steps necessary to obtain licences, certificates or other types of credentials for these careers.
+ Using that information, please take a look at the Loveland specific pathways that are connected to these career options - Loveland Career Pathways
The pathway documents can be used to help with reviewing the Four Year Plan.
+ Next, please open your Loveland student email; type your name then the words “Four Year Plan” in the “Search in mail” bar to find your individualized plan.
Students who have completed a plan in the past will find a PDF of their previous work; students who haven’t completed the plan will begin this process now.
+ Lastly, simply click on the appropriate link below to update/complete the Four Year Plan:
Anyone who is interested in additional information about completing the plan is encouraged to watch this video - 2023 Four Year Plan Review - Step by Step
Please note: this is a planning tool; it is not meant to be a scheduling tool. The Four Year Plan update will allow students to reflect on future considerations. Look at this as a rough draft of the academic opportunities at LHS and beyond. The due date for completion is Friday, February 3.
Specific course scheduling information will be shared later in January. Feel free to reach out to your counselor with any questions.
