High School Students (Grade 9-12)
One Book Everyone Reads (Required Reading)
The "One Book, Everyone Reads" selection for this summer is "The Playbook: 52 Rules to Aim, Shoot, and Score in This Game Called Life" by Kwame Alexander.
"One Book, Everyone Reads" is a unified reading experience for high schoolers. This is a required reading assignment for for all KCSD students taking high school courses (including 8th graders in English I.) Reading is done in the summer with an assessment in the fall which counts as a minor grade.

Come discover the South Carolina Book Awards, where each title is chosen to encourage students to read good quality contemporary literature. The South Carolina Young Adult Book Award nominees are appropriate for 9-12 grade levels.

Audiobook Sync for Teens
SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+. Returning April 25, 2019, SYNC will give away two complete audiobook downloads a week - pairs of high interest titles, based on weekly themes. In 2018, 26 titles were given away over 13 weeks.
KC Library Digital Library
Our Kershaw County Library is a wonderful resource! Free with your library card, your library offers ebooks and audiobooks for you to download, all for free! These can be borrowed on your phone, tablet, ereader, or computer.
