Chromebook Insurance (2nd-6th) & iPad Updates (4K-1st)
It has come to our attention that some families who purchased the Chromebook insurance for this year were inadvertently refunded the fee. If you wish to have this added back to your account, or did not initially take the insurance and you would like it added, please fill out this form. The insurance is $25 and covers accidental damage. More details can be found at www.oasd.org/chromebooks. Please contact our helpdesk at 262-560-2126 or helpdesk@oasd.org with any questions. We apologize for any inconvenience and confusion this may have caused.
4K, 5K, and 1st grade families: Apple released iOS 14.4 and we are asking for your help to update the iPad you are using. At your earliest convenience, please complete the steps listed here. We'd advise updating outside of the school day, as it does take some time to process. If you need any assistance with this or other iPad issues, see our website and/or contact our helpdesk at 262-560-2126 or helpdesk@oasd.org.
Staff Spotlight!
Meet Mrs. Moulton, Kindergarten
Top 3 Favorites Parts of Teaching in the OVLC:
It's hard to pick only my 3 favorite things! Seeing the enthusiasm my kindergartners have for learning, celebrating how much my students have learned this year and building relationships with the families!
About Mrs. Moulton’s Teaching Experience:
Along with teaching kindergarten and 2nd grade in the OASD, I have also worked as an English Language teacher and a Reading teacher. I started my career as a Peace Corps education volunteer in Central America.
A Bit More About Mrs. Moulton:
Our family loves hiking, biking and running together. We also enjoy lazy pajama days and movie nights.
Some of Mrs. Moulton’s Favorites:
Minnie Mouse
Vegetable sushi
British mysteries (both books and television)
Books & Company
Spending time with family
Meet Mrs. Seidenglanz, 2nd Grade
Top 3 Favorites Parts of Teaching in the OVLC:
The students are the heart of the OVLC and by far, the best part of teaching in the OVLC. They bring their best attitude, sense of humor, and uniqueness to our community. They are the fuel and sunshine in each day! Parents are next. When your home becomes a school, parents have had the tough job of being both parent and school teacher. It's not always a good time when those lines blur. I'm sure there were many days where I was a pain in the neck but our parents have been nothing but collaborative, gracious, and the best co-teachers anyone could hope for. I don't know what I would have done without them and I extend lots of gratitude and respect for their partnership. Last, we were supported by great leadership and surrounded by a great group of teachers in and out of the OVLC. We all worked together to make sure ALL OASD students had a great year and were ready to transition when the time was right.
About Mrs. Seidenglanz's Teaching Experience:
This is my thirteenth year of teaching both 2nd and 4th grade. I love them both! I taught in Waukesha just a few blocks from our house after pursuing a teaching certificate later in life at Carroll. It was a wonderful experience to go back to college at 40! This time I really learned. During that time I received my masters from Carroll too. Just three years ago I moved to Greenland as a 4th grade teacher and hope to stay in OASD until I retire because this is home! Before teaching I worked in the corporate world in sales, travel, and telecommunications. Every road led me to teaching and I am forever thankful to my family for encouraging me to follow my heart.
A Bit More About Mrs. Seidenglanz:
Jim and I have two grown daughters. One is in her second year as a nurse. She works at St. Marys Hospital in St. Louis and has scars and stars from her first (and hopefully last) pandemic. We are very proud of her. Our little one (22) will graduate from college next May. She is following in her big sister's footsteps in the nursing program at St. Louis University. We try to get down to see them as much as we can! They are our "everything." I come from a big, close, and crazy family and grew up in a northwest suburb of Chicago. My parents both turned 90 this year! I met my husband 30 years ago at Wrigley Field. Although he is a 100% Brewers fan, we try to make it to a game at least once a summer.
Some of Mrs. Seidenglanz Favorites:
My favorite colors are blues.
We love Outback, Lou Malnatis, and Noodles!
Walking, reading, planning for school, and hanging out with family and friends are my main activities.
My favorite children's authors are Kate DiCamillo and Cynthia Rylant.
I don't watch a lot of TV but I love comedy and anything anyone recommends on Netflix (except scary movies)!
