Function
The excretory system is responsible for the elimination of wastes produced by homeostasis. There are several parts of the body involved in this process such as sweat glands, the liver, the lungs and the kidney system. Excretory is excretion of waste.
DISORDERS OF THE EXCRETORY SYSTEM:
Nephritis - This disease is an inflammation in the kidneys. This starts by the inflammation of the nephron, which is the basic kidney unit, called glomerulus. Antibiotics can be used to treat this. Some symptoms can be smelly or bloody urine and pain in the abdomen.
Kidney Stones - These are smaller sized deposits of calcium and can be seen in the nephrons. Can be cause by increase in stones or it is heredity. Some symptoms are vomiting/nausea, painful urination, frequent urination, fever/chills, bloody/smelly urine, and/or sharp pain of the back or side.
