Happy New Year
As we begin our journey into 2023 I was reminded of the quote by Mark Twain, "....Love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that makes you smile". As we make our way through Winter, remember to find things to smile about. To help with that, we have some great family events coming up.
As always, thank you for entrusting us with one of the most important jobs in the world.

π Family Cultural Fair
Washington is excited to announce that we will be having a Family Cultural Fair on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 1-3pm in the Washington Gymnasium. At this event families will be displaying elements from their culture such as food, traditional dress, music, arts and crafts, pictures, or games. We will have contributions from Laos, Honduras, Guatemala, Mexico, Nicaragua, Cuba, and other countries as well. All Washington families, students, and staff are invited to attend. We will also be having booths from our school board, high school counselors, local businesses and organizations. Come join in on the fun and get to know other Washington families!
If you would like to contribute something from your culture at the culture fair, you can email Kara Erlandson at erlandsonk@mpsd.school or Amanda Sieracki at sierackia@mpsd.school. We would love for you to participate!

Happy New Year!!
It's hard to believe another year has come and gone, and here we are at the start of 2023! The start of a new year is often a time many adults look to reflect, restart and set new years resolutions for themselves. How about this year, you help your children set some for themselves? Here are a few ideas:
β¨ Cleaning up their toys before going to bed each night
β¨ Brushing their teeth twice per day
β¨ Read a book 30 minutes per day
β¨ Eat a fruit and vegetable every day
β¨ Find a new, active hobby to try
β¨ Start a savings account
Lakeshore Community Health Care Dental Clinic
WHEH: January 25-February 8
Lakeshore Community Health Careβs School Dental Program is once again offering their services within Manitowoc County. Lakeshore Community Health Care offers dental services provided during the school day to families regardless of insurance or ability to pay. The School Dental program is not a free of charge program. We use the same process as in our clinic in that students with no insurance are eligible for a sliding discount based on the family size/income.
Our services range from oral hygiene instruction, routine exams and cleanings, x-rays, fillings, simple extractions, stainless steel crowns and baby root canals. Students are seen throughout the school day for an average appointment time of 45min. Our goal is to have each child seen for their cleaning, x-ray and exam. If they are in need of additional treatment, they will be asked to return until treatment is complete or until our scheduled visit has ended. The small inconvenience this creates comes with a great reward. Children are having treatment completed in a week span that would normally take months. Families are also no longer having to take time off of work or pull students out of school for appointments.
