Work-Based Learning Spotlight
"With such a busy work schedule, Callan has been an active member of GCA’s Advisory Board, was a presenter for our CTAE’s Open House in March and currently serves as a mentor to one of our WBL students. The WBL team continues to enjoy working with Callan and we are very appreciative of the time she gives to GCA. During CTAE’s Open House, the students were very engaged in her presentation and many were so inspired by her career shift from a teacher to a directorship position at Chick-fil-A. Callan is truly an example of what happens to someone who follows their passion in life."
Please take a few moments to read her amazing journey. Thank you Callan for all that you are doing for GCA.
Callan Sims-Director of Operations at the Hamilton Mill Chick-fil-A
He realized my biggest passion was working with people and offered me a spot as the Director of People & Development at Chick-fil-A. I have recently stepped into a Director of Operations role. When I first came to Chick-fil-A, I had no intention of working for Chick-fil-A as my career, but I have since fallen in love with the brand and hope to retire representing and growing the brand.
I believe that the number one reason I have been able to step into roles that I don’t have the most experience in has been due to the acquisition of soft skills that I have developed over time and remained coachable with the hard skills needed to succeed in each position. I love what I do and who I get to serve alongside - it is why I get excited to come to work every day!
