Fall Festival is coming October 19th

One of our biggest events of the year is here! Fall Festival is happening on October 19th from 5-8pm in the LVES cafeteria/gym. Purchase your tickets online here or fill out this form and send back to school with payment. This is not only an extremely fun event, is also a great fundraising opportunity for the PTO. The event is run entirely by volunteers, so please contact your child's room parent to find out how you can help.

Lost and Found

Cold weather hasn't started yet, but we have a lot of jackets (among other items) in the Lost and Found. If your child is missing his/her jacket, or lunchbox, please have them stop by the Lost and Found bin located in the corner of the cafeteria. Please make sure you label jackets, lunchboxes, and backpacks with your child's name so we can reunite lost items with their owners.

PTO News

PTO will be conducting a Fundraiser called "Write the Check Campaign". Remember that 100% of the funds collected benefit our school, our students, and our teachers. Donations help purchase new and fun supplies to engage students in hands-on learning in science and technology, sports equipment, field trip scholarships, awards for student achievements, music and art supplies and much more! Forms will be coming home today! The "Write the Check Campaign" will run from September 14th through October 19th.

Character Trait of The Month...

October's Character Trait of The Month is Respect. Here are few ways we can show Respect...

  • Treat others with Respect, follow the Golden Rule;
  • Be tolerant and accepting of differences;
  • Use good manners, not bad language;
  • Be considerate of the feelings of others;
  • Don't threaten, hit or hurt anyone;
  • Deal peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements.

Students will learn more about this month's character trait in weekly Guidance lessons.

Counselor's Corner

Hello LVES Families! The character trait for October is Respect. Students are learning how they can show respect to their parents, friends, teachers, school, and themselves. At home, you can remind your child that respect can mean: Using good manners, being tolerant and accepting of differences, being considerate of others, dealing peacefully with anger, insults, and disagreements--not threatening, hitting, or hurting anyone, and following the Golden Rule~Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Stay tuned for more information about Red Ribbon Week at the end of October, when students will learn more about respecting themselves by being healthy and drug-free!

“I respect myself and insist upon it from everybody. And because I do it, I then respect everybody, too.” ~Maya Angelou

~Maya Angelou
