Principal's Corner
Hello Eisenhower Families,
This time of year is bittersweet. Students and staff have been working hard all year and have made tremendous growth. The learning we get to witness, and be part of, throughout the year is incredibly rewarding.
Over the course of a school year we are able to watch our youngest learners start their journey in becoming readers and mathematicians while our oldest learners develop the skills needed for the next step in their educational journey. It is so true that the days and weeks can sometimes feel long, but the years really do fly by.
On behalf of Eisenhower’s staff, I want to say how incredibly proud we are of each of our students, and in particular our fifth graders. Our amazing students have demonstrated an ability to persevere through challenges those of us in education have not seen before. The resiliency they have built in the face of adversity over their elementary years will take them far.
Congratulations fifth graders!! We are really going to miss your smiling faces, but we are confident that the skills you have developed will take you far as you each continue to pave your life’s path.
To all students, remember the importance of reading over the summer to maintain the skills you have learned. Have a wonderful summer!
In appreciation and partnership,
Principal DeRung

Celebrating our Creativity and Courage!
Students and staff are excited for the return of Eisenhower's Got Talent Show! Students first needed to try out to show off their creativity and talents in front of a panel of judges. On Friday, June 2, these talented and courageous students will perform during a school assembly. Unfortunately, due to limited space, only invited guests will be allowed to attend the performance.

Volunteer News
Thank You Volunteers!
Cheers to another wonderful school year at Eisenhower Elementary!
For all that you, our volunteers, accomplished here, thank you.
Thousands of copies were made, art work was hung, photos were snapped, food was donated, field trips, carnivals, movie nights, family dance, PTO meetings were attended, projects were sent home, funds were raised (Hike for Ike), and more than anything else, you were there. Every time you were needed, one of you was there. When I say that we couldn’t do what we do without YOU, our volunteers, I mean it. I’m excited for another wonderful school year starting in the fall. I hope you will be there with us too! We would love to have you. Until then, enjoy your summer!
Sincerely,
Kathrina Dekruyff-Glass

Last Day of School - Wed June 7th
The School Board approved a change to the calendar at its December 12 meeting, converting June 8 to a non-student contact day at the elementary level. There will be no change to the schedule at the secondary level. The last day of school for elementary school students will be Wednesday, June 7, while the last day of school for secondary students will remain Thursday, June 8.
This change will allow elementary staff additional time to prepare for transitions that will occur from the current school year to the next, including the closing of Franklin Elementary School and boundary changes across the district.
