Nik's Next Chapter

"The educational philosophy of John Bosco can be condensed into three words: reason, religion and kindness" (S.D.B). This quote reminds me of every person who has influenced me. It means that you are to first feel compassion through understanding where the student is coming from. Secondly, to always invite God to take part in your life and lastly to live with the virtue of kindness as everyone you meet and teach are your earthly brothers and sisters.

If it wasn't for my own Catholic education I don't think I would have ever found myself looking at a religious vocation and becoming an educator. When asked what I want to be when I am older I always answer, "I want to make the same differences in the lives of others that my teachers made in mine". Every teacher who has been in my life has made a difference within me, spiritually and intellectually.....

Each leadership opportunity I had has brought me back to the three words in the quote above. I have empathy for the other, I ask God to join me in my actions and I live the virtue of kindness. It is because of my teachers that I live my life this way which has led to my interest in sharing education to the future students of Canada. "
