Principal's Newsletter

What's Happening at Riverview

Dear Parents and Patrons,

I have officially been the principal of Riverview Elementary for 2 weeks now, and it has been so amazing. I feel so privileged to have the opportunity to serve as your principal and I feel honored to work with our highly qualified and dedicated staff, our amazing students, and our supportive parents here at Riverview.

I will be sending out a Newsletter every month to keep families updated on what's happening at the school. It will always be sent to your email account and will also be available to you on our school website and social media platforms. If you have items that you would like to share that you feel should be considered for the newsletter, you can send them to me at bristi.poulson@nebo.edu.

I will be sending out another newsletter in about 2 weeks with more information for back-to-school. I hope you are having a wonderful summer so far. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can be helpful to you in anyway. I can't wait to meet you and your students next month.

-Ms. Poulson

Registration Reminder

A quick reminder to complete the registration process for all of your children that will be attending Riverview this Fall. Our secretaries have been busy reaching out to those who have missing or incomplete registration files. We invite you to contact our front office if you have any questions about the process or need any help. Riverview office hours through July are Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 1:00pm. On August 5th Nebo School District we will be sharing class lists and teacher placements. Please make sure to complete registration before then so that you can see your child's teacher for the year. Thanks to the MANY who have already completed registration.

Also - if you know anyone in your neighborhood who has an incoming kindergarten student, please encourage them to call or visit the school so that we can help them with the registration process.

Free and Reduced Lunch Online Applications

Free and reduced lunch applications are now available online. The following is a letter from our Child Nutrition Coordinator:

Dear Parents/Guardians:

The National School Lunch Program waiver that provided free meals to students has expired. This means that school meals will no longer be automatically free. You will need to submit a Meal Benefits Application in order to qualify for free or reduced-price meals for the 2022-23 school year. Qualification is based on factors including household size, income, participation in assistance programs such as SNAP, FDPIR, and TANF, as well as living situations such as homelessness and migrancy.

Online applications will become available after July 12th. You may access an application by going to your Infinite Campus Menu, then scrolling down to More and clicking on Meal Benefits. Any application signed before July 12th does not pertain to the 2022-23 school year. As a reminder, households must apply every year to confirm eligibility for free or reduced-price meals.

If you do not qualify for free or reduced-priced meals, school meals are available at the paid rate of:

Elementary

Breakfast- $1.50

Lunch- $2.00

Secondary

Breakfast- $1.50

Lunch- $2.50

We look forward to another school year serving your students.

Best Wishes,

Spencer Sainsbury
