BRMS Hosts Author-in-Residence Shari Sampson

Shari Sampson, author of Sam Saves the Night , visited BRMS as an author-in-residence to mentor students. At a school-wide assembly on January 14th, Ms. Sampson inspired students to find the story within themselves. She told colorful anecdotes of her early years as a writer. She also displayed her writer's notebook and described it as a place where ideas cook. During her sixth grade residency, she guided the students through the skill of developing a character. It was an honor to learn from a talented expert who is also a screenwriter in addition to being an author.
