Food Service Inspection
The State Department of Education will be conducting an administrative review of the foodservice programs at Goshen Schools. They will be working out of the central office, checking all of our records. They have selected GMS, Waterford and West Goshen for individual reviews, along with any afterschool snack programs.
As an added bonus, a representative from the USDA will be joining the review.
The reviewers will be at Waterford for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday, Jan 23. They will be a GMS for breakfast on Wednesday the 24th, and then some will be at West Goshen for lunch, and the rest will be at GMS for lunch. They will observe snacks that afternoon.
I know that the cafeteria ladies are prepared for the review and will do a great job!

ILT Update
The ILT continued their work on the "draft" plan of our 90 Day Plan for 2nd semester.
We will share the 90 Day Plan and Long Range Plan for Cluster, Mondays, and ILT once all documents are finalized and approved after our visit to Atlanta.
Beginning the first week of February, the ILT will be focusing on a three week Unit of Study on developing coaching plans to support students achieving proficiency. Based on student proficiency levels, we will be trying this out with six (6 ) classrooms. Our goal through this process is to increase student achievement. In order to prepare for our work, ILT members will be visiting classrooms to observe student learning.

News from Central Office
Paraprofessional Handbook – In the coming weeks, the HR department will be sending Employee Acknowledgements out for Classified Employees. As per the procedures we used last year, your school secretaries will be helping with this task….in terms of making the worksheets available for staff to pick up from the office. In addition, Paraprofessionals will be given a new handbook. This is for all paraprofessionals (general education, special education, and EL paras). Please be aware that the ‘supervising teacher’ should make sure to review the handbook with the paraprofessional(s) that they supervise.
Renee Manno, District New Tech Coach, resigned from her position effective 1/16. We are grateful for her past service to GCS and wish her well in her new endeavor. After thoughtful consideration, it has been determined that we will not be posting this position and we will not be filling this vacancy. Instead, we have determined that our vision for coaching all pathways is through the structure of TAP. To that end, we have had conversations with Lisa Puckett, Executive Master Teacher, about expanding her role to include coaching all schools in the various pathways under the TAP umbrella. In the near future, Lisa will be meeting with Steve Hope and principals of New Tech schools to learn how she can best support your efforts.
