FES Building Goals for 2022-2023

  • Goal #1 - Literacy - By the end of the 2022-2023 school year, FES will increase the number of students reading on grade level by 15% as measured by DRA and Benchmark Assessments.
  • Goal #2 - MAP - 3rd and 4th grades MAP scores will be above state average in math and ELA for the 2023 spring assessments
  • Goal #3 Attendance - FES will improve student attendance by raising the ADA and keeping it above 91%.
  • Goal # 4 FES will build strong and effective partnerships with families that can help children and families thrive. ( this will be done through parent outreach nights, parent communication and connecting families to community resources)

Fall Kindergarten Screening

  • Forsyth Elementary hosted kindergarten Screening on August 10th and 11th.
  • The kindergarten team, Mrs. Woody, Kristine Cardwell and Andrea Avis welcomed new kindergarten students to our building and each played a role in the screening process.
  • Approximately 15 students were screened during those two days.

Preschool Parent Orientation

  • August 15th the preschool team hosted a parent orientation night.
  • Parents completed the enrollment process and were given information on expectations of preschool.
  • 85% of the families attended the parent orientation night.
  • Our preschool program is currently full and we have students on a waiting list.
  • Mrs. Quinn is the director of the program and does an excellent job making this transition as easy as possible for our families and eases their minds as they send off their babies for the first time.

  • Christina Davidson - Third Grade (19 years experience)
  • Michelle Durso - K/1 Special Education Teacher (16 years experience)
  • Carolyn Bolding - Preschool paraprofessional
  • Jennifer Napier - Special Education Paraprofessional (Deeter's classroom)
  • Cheyenne Barrett - Special Education Paraprofessional
  • Erin Wyman changed positions and is the district's psychological examiner
  • Kim Robertson has moved to 4th grade math

Bus Driver Training 2022

Jim Voliva and the Power of Positive Reinforcement

  • Mr. Voliva did an excellent job with his presentation on the power of positive reinforcement.
  • Mr. Voliva gave a presentation during bus driver training on building relationships and managing student behavior on the school bus.

Our Amazing Counselor

  • Mrs. Woody had the opportunity to share her knowledge this summer and present at the 2022 Summer Counselor Conference.
  • Her session was titled, 5 Easy Habits to Stay Motivated and Productive.
  • The conference was held through Zoom and there were over 2000 participants.
  • Give her a shout out if you see her. She truly is a life long learner and who loves to learn and share her knowledge with others.

School Carnival

  • The elementary will be hosting a school carnival this fall.
  • September 22 from 5:30 to 7:30, feel free to spread the word!
  • Bounce House, carnival games, cake walk, music, food and fun for all!
