Personal Space Camp
On Thursday, our school guidance counselor, Mrs. Edwards, visited to share a lesson about respecting personal space. She read Personal Space Camp by Julia Cook. This book is not only a great way to help kids understand about respecting personal space, but also includes strategies for politely asking for more personal space when we feel that our space is being "invaded". We learned that each person needs about the size of a hula hoop around them to feel comfortable. After the lesson each student received a certificate explaining what they learned. Please look for the certificate in their folder and read through it with your child.
