Board Meeting Report
Dec. 9, 2021
The Wentzville School District Board of Education held a meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021. It was live-streamed via the District YouTube channel and can be viewed by visiting the WSD on YouTube. The agenda and available supporting documents can be viewed online under Public Access to BoardDocs.
MITIGATION MEASURES
The Board voted to keep current COVID-19 mitigation measures in place through Dec. 22, including building threshold levels. Thereafter, the District will return to the communicable disease prevention measures under Board Policies and Regulations, unless otherwise ordered by SCCDPH subject to further Board action. Contact tracing procedures for close contacts are set to cease on Dec. 22 and will not be in effect upon return to school on Jan. 3, 2022.
Given the District's shift away from contact tracing, the WSD administration is working on recommendations for how staff will communicate possible COVID exposures to families when returning to school on Jan. 3. The administration will bring those to the Board at a future meeting for consideration.
COVID LEAVE REVISION
Due to a recent court decision, the St. Charles County Department of Public Health is no longer issuing quarantine orders for people who are close contacts. The COVID Leave Board action taken on Sept. 16, 2021, was no longer enforceable as written. Therefore, the Board approved the attached revision for the remainder of the calendar year:
The leave is set to expire Dec. 31, 2021.
The Board of Education approved the resignation of Dr. Jennifer Hecktor, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, effective June 30, 2022. Dr. Hecktor has accepted a superintendent position outside of the District.
