Message from Dr. Kaminski
The iPads have finally arrived! Thank you all for your patience around the order delay and we are thrilled to have 100% of our students with a device. The kindergarten team has plans to send iPads home this weekend for app uploads so they can begin utilizing their devices during instruction next week. The kids are super excited to have the opportunity, and so are we!
This newsletter is packed with mini-announcements, so start scrolling and enjoy your weekend!

Internet Filters and Safe Searching
Safe Browsers are apps that filter website content. There are many apps on the market today – some are free and some require a subscription. One such resource, Mobicip, is new to the market and has been popular with our families. There are free accounts and a yearly membership account for more control.
Note: In order for Mobicip or another safe search browser to be effective, it's important to go into Settings- Restrictions on the iPad and disable Safari, the Apple-installed browser, after the new browser is installed.
More information and resources on internet filtering and safe searching can be found at HSE Digital Safety & Literacy FAQ Page and on this Common Sense Media page.

Science Club Service Project and Sign-Up
The BSE Science Club recently completed a service project. After a brief lesson on erosion and the need to control it, twenty-four students and two parent helpers helped do just that. They spread a truckload full of mulch onto areas near the bus lot sidewalk that have become eroded. Students enjoyed being outdoors and doing something to curtail a problem right here at BSE. Second grader Mady B. summed it up for all Science Club members when she said, “It was fun! I like helping the environment.” Click here to read more about it and see some photos. Still want to join Science Club? It's not too late...Click here for our flyer.
