Back to School 2022/2023
Staying connected with Walsh School
Welcome to Walsh School!
Dear Walsh Families,
I love this time of year...This is when the entire Walsh Staff gets to welcome in a whole new batch of friends and we get to see our old friends again, and let me tell you, we are excited to get back to school! There are lots of things to learn and do this year, and we are ready to get things going. We have been making plans and getting everything ready for our students, beginning with open house the week that school starts - look below for beginning of school details. In the meantime, enjoy the last couple weeks of summer. As always, if you have questions, please call the office. We are looking forward to a fantastic year and a strong partnership with you!
Proof of Residency
If you haven't proven residency for the upcoming school year, please do so now.
All District 92 new and returning students will need to prove residency. Please bring the following documents to the school office:
A. Current real estate tax bill, copy of your lease, or if shared housing, fill out and notarize the 3rd Party Affidavit found online under Registration Forms at www.d92.org.
B. Two forms of identification (i.e. driver’s license, utility bill, bank statement, etc.)
All new kindergarten students will also need to provide an original birth certificate. A copy will be made and you will keep the original.
Be on The Lookout
Please note, that only those students who have proven residency will get this letter.

First Day for K and 1 is Wednesday, August 17th, with early dismissal at 2:50.
School Hours are 8:50am - 3:30pm, with an early dismissal every Wednesday at 2:50.
Wednesday hours for EC/PreSchool are 9:00-11:00 for the AM, and 12:45-2:45 for the PM.
Morning Car Riders: Drop off begins at 8:40 in the North Street parking lot. Please follow the markings and the circle drop off procedures. It is important that you do not park and walk your child to the doors - stay in your car and follow the line. Please only enter the drop off line from North Street, as the one on MacGregor Road is a do not enter / exit only. The drop off line closes at 8:50, so if you arrive later, you will need to bring your student into the building at Door 6 and sign him/her in.
Afternoon Car Riders: Pick up at the doors is at 3:25pm. Please park and walk to your assigned door to retrieve your child. We ask you to please avoid parking in the main school lot on MacGregor at this time, as we have multiple buses moving about in this lot, and car and foot traffic can create a safety hazard. Thank you in advance.
Absences: If your child is going to be absent from school, please call the office by 9:00 am. By law, we are required to account for all students, and if we haven't heard from you, we will use the emergency contact list to locate someone who can account for the student's whereabouts. Thank you so much for your understanding and cooperation.
Social Emotional Learning (SEL)
Walsh Elementary School supports our youngest students by laying the foundation for lifelong social, emotional and relationship skills. We will develop a sense of self-awareness, self-worth, and responsible decision-making within our community through modeling and instruction.
