LCMS Weekly Newsletter

By Tami Gunset

Parents,

I hope that you have had a great weekend. Please continue to encourage your child to stay on top of any classwork. Spring semester grades are very important and I do not want any student to fall behind. We offer homework help in the mornings and after school.

We will begin 8th grade math and reading and 7th grade writing tutoring very soon, so be on the look out for a letter to be sent home. Please be in contact with your child's teacher if you have any concerns.

8th Grade Banquet Fundraiser

Eat at Chick-Fil-A (82nd and Milwaukee location) on Thursday, January 28 from 6:30am-10:00pm and a portion of the sale will benefit the 8th Grade Banquet!

District Wide Science Fair.....was a SUCCESS!

Our science fair was a huge success and I truly appreciate your student's hard work. We had several outstanding projects which made judging difficult. I want to congratulate each student on their work and good luck to those 21 students who advanced to the Regional Science Fair.

2016-2017 Schedule Request for 8th graders (Freshman Schedule for LCHS)

At 9:00am on Monday, January 25, 8th graders will go to the PAC on to meet with the High School counselors about their High School schedule requests. At this time, the counselors will cover the courses and how to go online and request classes. Students will receive materials to begin requesting courses for their freshman year.

At 6:00 pm on January 25, a parent informational meeting will be held regarding requesting courses and the different tracks pertaining to House Bill 5. I would highly encourage each parent to attend as they will cover questions you will have about your child's freshman schedule.

Schedule requests will need to be entered into Career Cruising by January 29. This is something that you and your child should complete at home once you have received all the information. Please let me know if you have any questions.
