COMPLETE THE ANNUAL BACK TO SCHOOL UPDATE by August 1st
South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) is pleased to provide families with an easy way to complete online forms and review and update household contact information for the 2022-23 school year. All families must complete this update between July 15 and Aug. 1.
One parent or guardian can log in through Campus Parent Portal to:
- Review and update emergency contact information
- Complete required school and district annual forms, including media opt-out, medications in school, field trip permissions and more
- Update parent/guardian contact information for district and school communications
- Update home, alternative or daycare addresses to ensure your child receives school bus transportation on the first day of school
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Open Campus Parent Portal using either an internet browser.
- It is recommended that you use a computer, laptop or tablet to complete the update instead of a smartphone.
- The District Service Center, 7362 East Point Douglas Rd. S., Cottage Grove, MN 55016, will have computers available in the main office for parents and guardians to complete the update.
- Log in with your username and password.
- If you need to reset your password, please visit this link.
- If you need additional assistance with your Campus Parent Portal account, please complete our technology support form.
- Click on the menu button and select “More.”
- On the “More” page scroll to the bottom and select “Online Registration.”
- Please note: This process will not make any enrollment changes for your child.
- Begin updating information for each child in your household. The process will take approximately 5-20 minutes.

2022-2023 Lake School Supply List
PLEASE NOTE:
All Lake Middle School students will be assigned a school-issued Chromebook for the 2022-2023 school year. Students will receive their Chromebooks the first week of the school year.
All students will also be given a Student Planner (free of charge)
And finally, all students (who have a physical education class) will need to purchase/utilize a school issued combination padlock for their gym locker. They will be available at Lake for $5 per padlock or they can still use a purchased padlock from previous school years, if purchased here at Lake.

QUESTION: How do I know which counselor or assistant principal to contact for my child(ren)?
ANSWER: We have three school counselors (one per grade level) and two assistant principals. They are assigned as follows:
6th Grade Counselor: Mr. Jamie Jankowski
7th Grade Counselor: Ms. Kami Altman
8th Grade Counselor: Mrs. Jacqueline Valek (who will be on materinity leave through November - we will advertise her replacement in the very near future!)
6th Grade Assistant Principal:
Mrs. Allison Johnson - 6th grade students with the last names A through L
Mr. Rich Paisner - 6th grade students with the last names M through Z
7th Grade Assistant Principal: Mr. Rich Paisner
8th Grade Assistant Principal: Mrs. Allison Johnson
QUESTION: When does the school staff return to school for the upcoming school year?
ANSWER: The school staff are contracted to return to school on Monday, August 29th which is the start of their staff workshop week. If you have questions prior to that time you can contact the front office at 651-425-6402 during normal business hours and they can assist you.
QUESTION: When should my child(ren) bring their school supplies to school?
ANSWER: There are numerous opportunities for your child to bring their school supplies to school and place them in their locker.
The first opportunity (and most recommended) is during the Open House Events scheduled for Wednesday, August 24th. Students will have access to their lockers/locker combinations during this event and are encouraged to organize their supplies in their locker at this time to prepare for the upcoming school year!
If you child cannot attend the Open House Event, they can come to school during normal business hours any weekday after August 24th and place their school supplies in their locker.
Students can also bring their school supplies with them the first day of school.
QUESTION: When will my child(ren) take their school pictures for this upcoming school year?
ANSWER: School pictures are scheduled for Tuesday, October 4th. (Re-take picture day is scheduled for November 2nd). More information will be shared at a later time in regard to ordering school pictures, etc.
QUESTION: When will my child(ren) receive their school-issued Chromebook?
ANSWER: All Lake Middle School students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th will receive their Chromebooks during the first week of school.
QUESTION: Does my child(ren) have to use a school issued Chromebook or can they use their own device?
ANSWER: All students at Lake Middle School need to use their school issued Chromebook.
