President's Message:

Welcome back to school. Hope the 2014-2015 school year is off to a good start. AnnMarie Marchese and Jennifer Cappacio will be the PTA Co Presidents this year. Please use their email at with questions or concerns.

This first general PTA meeting will be Tuesday, July 29th from 7pm-8pm in the media center. Please join us. We will be talking about our BIG project for the year.

Name The Garden Contest:

We will be holding a contest to come up with a name for our new school learning garden. There will be a table set up in the hallway outside the cafeteria for EVERYONE to submit your ideas.

Our new School Learning Garden is located on the 3-5 playground right outside the cafeteria doors! Students in grades 3-5 can visit during their recess time and K-2 teachers can take a moment immediately before or after lunch to take their class to go take a peak. The winner will be featured in next years yearbook!!

Have fun visiting the garden and submitting your contest ideas!

Go Play Save Fundraiser:

The 2014 Go Play Save coupon book fundraiser begins on Wednesday, 7/23 for Tracks 1, 2 and 3. This is a great fundraiser for MCES as 50% of the book sales are returned to the school. Coupon books will be sent home with your child along with selling instructions and a collection envelope. This year we have two book options - the traditional paper book or a mobile version! As an added bonus, purchasers will also be able to order and pay for books online. Be sure to check your child's bag on Wednesday for your book and detailed instructions.

The GPS committee could use a few more volunteers to help distribute books to classrooms on Wednesday, 7/23 at 8:30. Please sign up here to help (we'll have coffee & bagels!):

School Store: Opens Tuesday July 22, 2014

Tuesdays: K-2 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am
Thursdays: 3-5 kids welcome from 8:00-8:25am
The school store sells little pencils, erasers, fun little school items for kids to purchase - prices range from $0.10 - $2.00, so kids can easily afford to buy something even with a little bit of pocket change. It is located at the end of the main hallway, adjacent to the 2nd grade hallway.

Tea & Tissues : A Special Event for Kindergarten Parents (track4)

Tea and Tissues - Track 4

The PTA will be hosting a new and special event for Kindergarten parents on Monday, August 4th for Track 4.
