Elementary Students Exhibit Trustworthiness

Trustworthiness is being honest and reliable, always doing what you say you’ll do and having the courage to do the right thing. Build a good reputation. Be loyal– stand by your family, friends, school, and country. Don’t deceive, cheat or steal.

MYP Students Are Principled

Principled is acting with integrity and honesty, with a strong sense of fairness, justice and respect for the dignity of the individual, groups and communities. It is taking responsibility for actions and the consequences that accompany them.

Field Trips!

Our eligible Kindergarten students will visit the Pumpkin Farm on Wednesday, October 2. Homeroom teachers sent all information via email to their families about the details of the trip.

Grade 1 eligible students will visit the Old Davie School House on Wednesday, October 2, or on Thursday, October 3. All information about the field trip was sent by the homeroom teachers to those families involved.

On Thursday, October 3, our eligible MYP Year 2 students will go on their Springs Safari field trip and will return on Friday, October 4!

There are approximately 600,000 homeless people in the United States, and a small act of love can make a huge difference. As winter approaches, socks are oftentimes the item most needed. Socktober is an initiative which addresses this need and strives to make a change in the community. During the month of October, students can bring in at least one package of new socks to their homeroom class for donation. To create awareness of the campaign, every Wednesday in the month of October will be “Wacky Wednesday,” where students are encouraged to wear their craziest socks.

Full Time Enrollment (FTE) Week

Attendance Matters every day at our school, but especially during FTE week, October 7 - October 11. We are encouraging all of our students to be on time, ride the bus (if applicable) and participate in our Spirit Week!

Student attendance is key to funding for our school. With your help we want to maximize on state funding for your child(ren) at our school. With this in mind, there is one thing we can all do to help ensure that our school receives all of our entitled state funding – please send your child to school at least 3 out of 4 days during FTE week (October 7 – 11. On Wednesday October 9 there is no school for students.). Additionally, if your child rides the school bus to and/or from school, we ask that you have them ride the bus during this week, as school funding is impacted by student transportation as well.
