Marble Maze Project Based Learning
The Mission:
To work with your group to build a maze that allows the marble to go from the start to finish in the slowest possible time
Engineers: Students put on the hats of engineers as they began to build their maze. Students built their mazes based on their blue prints and materials. They worked together to assemble the maze and problem solve when they came to any issues. At times, students had to modify their plans to ensure that the marble went through the maze in the slowest possible time.
Statisticians: Statisticians put their math minds to the test as they extracted data from their mazes and then examined and analyzed the data. Students graphed the classroom data, made charts, and examined the range, median, mode, mean, minimum, and maximum of the data.
Coders: Mathematicians worked as coders as they used ozobots to develop a replica of their maze. Students were assisted by a fifth grade helper to teach them how the ozobots work. Then, coders went to work in creating a replica of their maze and coding the ozobots to go through their maze.
