Women, Infants, and Children
The people in WIC helps with the people who are low-income and nutritionally at risk. They provide for women, infants, and children by providing nutritional foods, health care, and health services. It helps provide supplemental foods and education on healthy eating.
pregnant women (through pregnancy and after 6 weeks after birth)
breastfeeding women (after 6 months after birth and end of pregnancy
non-breastfeeding postpartum women (up to infants first birthday)
infants (up to infants first birthday)
- children up to their 5th birthday (up to child’s fifth birthday)
It depends on the person. It is not necessary to have it though. According to WIC website, it seems to help a lot of people.
