BYOD at HOME!
As many of your students transition from using their devices in the classroom to using their device at home there may be some additional challenges that surface. While at school our internet filters, firewalls, and other technologies make a great effort to ensure your student is safe and secure online. We do our very best to ensure these tools help provide a safe environment for learning with technology.
When students leave our building their devices and actions are no longer filtered through our tools. This means that any web filtering outside of school is the responsibility of the parent/guardian. We encourage you to speak to your children regarding internet safety and digital citizenship, and to reinforce positive online interactions. We have some suggestions on how to better monitor the use of devices at home. Below you will find some helpful links that can better support your students and devices to ensure safer more responsible use at home.

Parent Controls:
Ultimately, you have the control of your student's technology use at home. There are also great tools outside of school that can help support your expectations at home. Aside from third party supports such as personal routers, software, and other devices that help filter internet use, parents can also control their internet through their internet provider. Below is a list of the most popular internet providers parent support page. If you do not see your provider here simply Google search the following "your providers name PARENTAL CONTROLS". This search will pull up directions on how to set-up parent controls for your at home internet.

Attendance Line 317-803-8190
If your student will be absent, please call the Attendance Line at 317-803-8190.
UPDATED POLICY-If you are picking up your student from school, you must enter the Main Office before we send a pass for the student. Please do not call ahead of time, we can no longer send a pass early. We want to make sure students are spending as much time as possible in the classroom.
If your student will miss more than one day due to a vacation, attending camp, going out of town for tournaments, etc., please email our Principal, Matt Vandermark at matt.vandermark@ftcsc.org, giving the student’s name, reason for absence and dates student will miss school. The student will then be called to the office and receive a form to have their teachers sign so they can receive make up work. The student will then turn that form in to the Main Office before the absence begins.
If your student goes to a Doctors appointment, please bring a Dr. note/return to school note if you want the absence marked as Medical.
