The Weekly Update #4
September 11th, 2023
September 29, 2023
This week the Kindergarteners got to have their first hangout with their 8th grade buddies! The smiles speak for themselves - they all had an awesome time!
Daytime Helpers Needed
We have a few places we could use help during the school day. This is a great way to get in some service hours AND get to see your kiddo during the day - it's a WIN-WIN!
- Lunchroom assistant/monitor: Come from 11:15 - Noon and assist grades K-3 as they go through the salad bar, then help to assist in opening milks, peeling bananas, and other tasks that can be difficult for small fingers. Come once a week, every day, or whenever you can! Contact Lunchroom Assistant Jenna Rose Bradshaw if interested or with questions.
- Organizer for a store room and some cupboards: Do you like tackling a messy cupboard and using your creative energy to turn that clutter into a beautifully organized space? Spend some time with us helping organize some of our storage spaces. Contact Ms. Linda if you are interested, day/time can be flexible.
Thanks for Raising Your Hand to support our school!
Join the Church Choir
We want to let everyone in the parish know that all ages are warmly invited to join our choir! Weekly rehearsals will be 90 minutes (6:30 - 8pm) and you can invite your friends and neighbors to come join us as well. We pray and sing together as a (growing) family, and like any family we want to include multiple age groups and generations. For now, rehearsals will be on Thursday nights at 6:30. The choir will sing for one weekend Mass (Sunday or Saturday) normally on the 3rd weekend of each month, from September through May, and also for special liturgies including Holy Week and Christmas. Each weekly rehearsal also includes vocal training and techniques. Only requirements to join: be able to read music to some degree of proficiency, carry a tune, match pitch - and truly love to "sing your prayer," from the heart! If you have any questions or ideas, please contact Donna at 408-406-6240 or by email at dstoering@presentationofmary.org.
Family Financial Aid Night
Zoom Webinar Hosted by TADS
This webinar will take place at 6pm on Monday, October 4th, and will cover the basics of understanding financial aid, how and when to apply, and how an award is calculated. They'll also do a live Q&A session to answer more detailed questions.
Blessing of the Animals
Join us at 10am on Saturday, October 7th outside the Kennard Street Entrance of the church for the Blessing of the Animals in honor of the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi. All are welcome!
Fall Conferences

It is tradition that our school families help provide dinner for the teachers during conferences. Please click on the link below to sign up to bring something. Thank you for your support and generosity!
Halloween Party
Halloween Party
Save the date for Saturday, October 28th from 6pm-9pm for our family-friendly Halloween party in the School Gym!
Admission is $7/child, adults are free of charge. Concessions will be available for purchase and include hot food, snacks, and glow-in-the-dark items.
There will be activities for all ages: games for younger and older kids, dance music later in the evening, a costume contest (child and family categories), & a haunted house put on by our middle school students!!
Saturday, Oct 28, 2023, 06:00 PM
Presentation of Mary Catholic School, Kennard Street, Maplewood, MN, USA
In order for the Halloween party to be a success, we need volunteers! There are various positions available:
- Emcee: Make brief announcements (games are closing, minute-to-win-it is beginning, best costume voting will begin), etc.
- Leader of our Minute-to-Win-It games (in the past this was our emcee, but it doesn't have to be): For about 20-30 minutes, an adult leads these games.
- Music coordinator: For about 45 minutes, we let the kids dance to Halloween-themed songs and other popular songs.
- Co-lead for the Halloween Party: Vicky Boros, who is coordinating the event this year, is looking for another parent to help with planning the party this year. This can include communications with the school/parish, solicitation of prizes, decisions on the food to be served, etc. Vicky has a comprehensive outline for putting together the party already.
If you are interested in helping out or have questions, please contact the SFO at SFO@pbvmstudents.org.
Panther Classic Golf Fundraiser
Due to heavy rain last weekend, the Panther Classic Golf Fundraiser has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 8th. Which means there's still time to get involved!
Bring your foursome, or sign up yourself and we'll add you to a team at Oak Marsh Golf Course in Oakdale for an 18-hole scramble golf tournament to benefit our favorite school. Tee times start at 1pm. A boxed lunch and complimentary drink ticket are included with registration.
All paid golfers will receive an 18 hole green fee for future play at Oak Marsh Golf Course.
Don’t miss out on a great afternoon of prizes, games, friends, food, drinks, and golf! The registration price goes up tomorrow so sign up today!
If golf isn't your thing, we also have opportunities for volunteers. This is a great way to get some service hours completed and meet new people.
Lastly, we have partnered with Legendary Golf Apparel, a veteran-owned and Minnesota-based business, to design exclusive polos embroidered with the Presentation of Mary logo. What’s even better is that Legendary will donate a portion of all proceeds made from these sales to Presentation of Mary School!
Panther Athletics
Come cheer on our Panther Volleyball and Soccer teams at their games! The schedules can be subject to change, so make sure you check the CAA website for any updates.
All-School Masses
Each month (except March) through May, there will be an All-School Mass on one Sunday. At this Mass, students will do the readings and carry up the gifts. All families are encouraged to come, and students are encouraged to wear their uniforms. Any student that comes to Mass in their uniform that day will earn an our of uniform pass! The dates of the masses for this year are:
