Ms. Venne's Weekly Newsletter
Weeks 18 & 19
This Week!
This week, we worked with the book Wind, Rain, and Sun in Language Arts as well as working through our short -e word family packet. In Math we really worked with number stories and equations, adding to 10 and 20. For Cultural Studies, we learned about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and shared a dream that we have to help change the world or do something for others.
Below is a book titled Be A King that I read one morning for read aloud.
What's Coming!
Next week we will read a new Language Arts book Tim's Metamorphosis and finish our short -e word family packet. In Math we will work with our hundreds chart to talk about numbers that are more than, or less than another number. We will have Science next week learning about sound and music, and creating an instrument from recyclables and simple materials at home.
**Lunch Bunch: Students will have the option to join Mrs. Lozano & other K-2 students to eat lunch together or just to talk every Thursday & Friday from 11:15-11:45 using a link posted to our Google Classroom stream**

Scholastic
Scholastic is a company that sells children’s books, typically at a cheaper price than any other store. If you choose to purchase books through the Scholastic catalog, use my teacher code to connect your order with our classroom. Catalogs are available/new online each month & paper flyers are sent home each month. Click here for January flyers. If you purchase books, points will be accrued in my account to spend on new books for our classroom!
December orders need to be submitted online by Thursday, January 28 at noon.
**When purchasing books online, use my teacher code: T63C4. Books will be shipped to school and will be sent home in the weekly envelopes (or you can choose to ship the books to your home).
Please let me know if you have any questions! These are just resources, you do NOT need to participate in these by any means!
