Each year on the fourth Thursday in April, National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day encourages parents to take their children to work. This annual event is an educational program in the United States and Canada where parents take their children to work with them for one day.

This year National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day is on Thursday, April 27, 2023. For families who will be participating with their children in this experience please notify your child’s teacher and attendance at AttendancePVS@harrisontwp.k12.nj.us prior to April 27th. For attendance purposes, children can return letter verification of their participation in National Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day upon their return to school on April 28, 2023.

We hope that our learners who participate find inspiration and engaging experiences throughout their day.

Each month PVS staff nominate a STAR Polisher Award. Star Polisher nominees heighten teachers' belief in themselves, their teaching ability, and their students. It affirms the staff spends nurturing students' love for learning, and it honors their positive influence in the lives of students and the school community.

Mrs. Upshur's STAR Polisher Award was given to Mrs. Juanita Coceano, Special Education Aide. Thank you Mrs. Upshur for nominating Mrs. Coceano for the Star Polisher award this month.

Mrs. Coceano's bio:

I am truly honored to receive the Staff Star Polisher Award for the month of April. This is my 18th year as a special education aide for the district. I have been married for over 30 years and have a 24 year old daughter. I have 3 cats and a dog that keep me busy at home. I love walking at the park, beach days, and family time watching movies on Netflix. I have been incredibly blessed to work for a wonderful district and made many lifetime friends along the way.
