Message from Middle Grade Teachers

Good morning and welcome to week 5 of the school year!

Tutoring and Live Lesson Schedule

Please make sure you are taking advantage of live lessons and tutoring available to you each week. This will become required if you fall behind and are not completing assignments. Click here to view the schedule.

Quiz/Test Policy

As a student, it is your responsibility to email or message the teacher and ask for a retake or to do test corrections. Remember also that your teachers are human and sometimes we forget, so if it has been 24 hours and you still need a retake then ask again.

ELA, Social Studies, and Math: If you fail both of your first attempts, your teacher will give you two additional opportunities. If you are still not successful, then they will expect you to do Quiz Corrections, you may choose to do quiz corrections at any point though. In order to get credit for Quiz Corrections, you must attempt to correctly answer all of the questions that you missed for your highest quiz. That means if you got a 60 then you need to answer all 4 questions that you missed. For math you will also need to show your work, you are welcome to take a picture of this and send it to Mrs. Perry. You will receive 1/2 credit for each question you answered correctly, additional points may be awarded at the discretion of the teacher. If this does not get you to a passing grade the teacher will reach out and talk to you about how to get extra credit. Again it is your responsibility to reach out to the teacher do not just say you are stuck and stop working.

Science: Please read Mrs. Young's quiz/test policy. There are times that you are REQUIRED to do retakes and/or corrections. Mrs. Young will not mark that your unit is complete until you have done all necessary quiz/test corrections/retakes. You will also need to fill out the quiz/test retake request form for corrections, and the corrections template request form for corrections. I will not give you a retake or the corrections template until you fill out this form. DO NOT email Mrs. Young to get a retake.

Teacher Workday & Remote Learning Day

This Thursday (9/17) is a teacher workday so there will be no school for students. This means that all live lessons and tutoring will be cancelled for the day. Students are still welcome to complete work if they wish.

This Friday (9/18) is a Remote Learning day. This is a regular school day for students.

Weekly Checklists

Each week, students and parents will receive a weekly checklist of assignments that students are expected to complete each week. These checklists are going to be the BEST way to keep track of what needs to be done and what has been completed. These checklists are attached to this email, posted on the GA Middle School class on Google Classroom, and on the GA Middle School website as well. Students will have all week to work on these assignments. If students have problems with their assignments, please email or message the teacher for that subject.

Academic Curriculum

Students have started their academic curriculum for the year! Videos and helpful resources have been posted on our Middle School website so make sure you check those out! We understand that this is an adjustment for most of you and we are here to help! Don't be afraid to reach out to us with any questions or concerns you may have about your child's learning.
