Volume of a Triangular Prism

The formula for a triangular prism is Bh. This is when you find the area of the base and multiply it by the height to get the volume. Three sides are are rectangles and two are triangles.

Volume of a Rectangular Prism

The formula for a rectangular prism is Bh. On the rectangular prism their some sides that match each other. All four sides match each other, and both bases match each other.

Volume of a Cylinder

The formula for a cylinder is Bh. You have to find the area of the circle then multiply it by the height of the prism. This will get the volume quickest. There are two circles and the outside is a cylinder.

Volume of a Pyramid

The formula for a pyramid is Bh divided by 3. This means to multiply the area of the base by the height of the pyramid then divide the total by 3 to get the volume.

Volume of a Cone

The formula for a cone is Bh divided by 3. You have to find the area of the circle (base) then multiply it by the height. Then divide it by 3.

Volume of a Sphere

The formula for a sphere is 3.14(r cubed)4 divided by 3. First you find the area of the circle in the middle as if it is a cube. Then we multiply it by 4, then divide by 3 to get the answer.

STAAR Question

It is valentines day and Ricky Sauce made a box for candy. It is 5 in. wide, 7 in. tall, and 10 in. long. How much space is there inside of the box?

Formula=Bh or lwh which means (10x5)7 or 10x7x5

The answer would be 350 cubic in.
