This Week's Highlights
Earlier today, the Femineers group of 45 young ladies traveled to Cal Poly Pomona to participate in the annual Femineer Summit. It is Dwyer's first year participating and the ladies had a great time. _______ Thank you to the advisors, Mrs. French and Miss Smith, for making this a great first year for the program.
A group of 7th Grade Core students also had the opportunity to hear from a published author on Thursday. Mr Todd Calgi Gallicano came to share the way in which many books, myths, movies, and stories are written - using the hero's journey. He made reference to many popular movies and how similar stories in fiction follow the same story line. Students were very interested in how his novel, Guardians of the Gryphon's Claw, fits this mold and how it incorporates mythical creatures from many cultures.
