Grandparents Day was a great success... a special thank you to those grandparents, friends, and neighbors who came to celebrate with us! We appreciate you and your support of St. Cecilia Catholic School.

CLUBS - LAST CALL!!!
LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP & SEND IN MONEY - CLUBS START TOMORROW!
We are getting ready to kick off our club rotations for the first trimester tomorrow! We try hard to provide a variety of clubs and reach different grade levels throughout the year. If there is not a club offered for your child, please be patient. There will be at some point this year.
Please note that this year, we are asking for a $5 club fee. This will cover any basic materials and supplies. Once you sign up for a club, please send the $5 to school with your child in an envelope marked with their name and the word CLUB.
Make sure you check the dates that we are having clubs as well. To learn more about the clubs offered (name, sponsor, grade level and end time), please click HERE.
ATTENDANCE
Please remember to review the updated attendance policy in the handbook. A parent and/or doctor note is requried for each absence.
FESTIVAL - OUT OF UNIFORM
If you worked the required amount of hours and signed in at the Volunteer Tent, your child is eligible to be out of uniform. If you are unsure, please ask your child as all teachers have been given this list. The list was provided by the Festival Committee.
CAFETERIA VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
We need help in our cafeteria on a daily basis. Great way to earn Parent Partnership hours. You must be VIRTUS compliant.
Parent hours need to be logged in to Sycamore for approval!
SACRAMENT INFORMATION
During the last few years, we realize that many families were not able to ensure their children received all of their sacraments. Each year, we reach out to help any families who may need help with getting caught up to these important milestones.
If you have a child (in school or not) that may need baptism, first communion or confirmation preparation, please let us know! Also, parents who may be interested in learning more about our Catholic Faith or becoming Catholic can let us know. Please use this quick survey to let us know of any sacraments you are interested in at this time!
PTO UPDATES
- Thanks to everyone who attended the 1st PTO meeting last week. It was great to see everyone. If you have not become a member of the PTO, there is still time. Please, send in our membership form and money to the office by Sept. 15.
- The PTO has lots of fun things planned for the year. The first event will be Trunk or Treat on Oct. 21. Be on the lookout for more information and planning meetings coming up soon.

LUNCH NEWS
Welcome Back!!!
With the new school year upon us, I wanted to reach out with some new information. If you could please discuss these changes with your child, it will be truly appreciated. The cost of a student's lunch has increased to $3.15. This is regulated at a state level. The adult lunch is $5.00. We will be having dessert on some days of our menu. You can only get this dessert when your child purchases lunch in the cafeteria. If you pack lunch, I cannot give or sell the dessert individually.
There will be a couple changes as to what the student is allowed to get for extras. Basically, I am not allowed to give extras on any grains (french fries, mashed potatoes, pancakes etc.) However, if the child purchases a complete second lunch, they can receive everything.
The most exciting new addition is ICE CREAM FRIDAYS!!! With ICE CREAM FRIDAY items being added, I need to make it very clear, if your student does not have money on their account, they will not be able to purchase any ice cream or extras until funds have been added. The last thing I ever want to do is tell these sweet kids, no but, I have no choice. They can bring in cash to buy snacks and ice cream. Any change they are owed back will be added to their MySchoolBucks account.
If your child's account goes below -$20.00, I am not able to charge any additional lunches. If this occurs, I have no choice but to pack them a bagged lunch consisting of a cheese sandwich and milk. The bagged lunch will then be taken to the school office and your child will be asked to come pick it up as if you (their guardian) brought it to them.
Please take the time to express to your child whether or not they are allowed to purchase extra items and ice cream. If they are, please ensure they have enough money in their account to cover the cost of these items.

SPORTS INFORMATION
ARCHERY - Registration is now open to all students in grades 4-8 for St. Cecilia Archery. Entry fee is $100 and teams will have one scheduled practice on Wednesdays as well as tournaments on Saturdays. The season runs from October through March.
We are also looking for parents volunteers to coach or assist. As a reminder all parent volunteer coaches must be VIRTUS compliant. Please indicate your willingness to help when registering your child.
REGISTRATION ENDS SEPTEMBER 28TH
FALL SPORTS PICTURES - Pictures will be held on September 19th in the school gym. Fall Sports include U4-U14 Soccer, Cross Country, and Volleyball. Attached is the schedule. Any questions, please send an email to jpmilleck@gmail.com.

MEN'S STAG
SAVE THE DATE: St. Cecilia men's sports stag committee is planning our annual stag event for January 20, 2024, from 6:00 pm - 11:00 pm in the church undercroft. Tickets are on sale now, but we are still in search for game table sponsors and donations for the raffles. The funds raised from this event will be used to purchase outdoor basketball hoops for the students.
