Please help decorate our Mitten Tree:)

Dutch Fork Elementary will sponsor a Mitten Tree project during the holiday season. Students, staff and community members may donate mittens, gloves, hats and socks, and hang them on the tree in the school's cafeteria lobby. Donated items will be given to a local charity to distribute to families in need during the winter months. Donations will be accepted from Nov. 30 until Dec. 18.

What's going on in 4th grade this week

Mathematicians are diligently working on mastering long division! It is challenging, but we are seeing growth every day!

Social scientists are looking at comparing and contrasting the climates and economies of the 13 colonies. Next week we will begin looking at life in colonial times!

Readers are reading a wide variety of texts which include news articles informing us of current issues, a realistic novel "War with Grandpa", and reading non fiction historical texts. This is all in addition to reading self selected books of choice.

Writers are working on completing a persuasive essay on a topic of their choice. We have spent time looking at a variety of opinion writings and have learned that it is very important to have reasons and evidence to support our opinions.
