Letter from the PTO Co-Presidents

Dear Lions Park Families,

We hope that everyone is settling into new routines and that your children are enjoying being back in school. It’s hard to believe that September is already over. The PTO is excited to have the opportunity to bring back some in person activities and events as we have done in the past. We are excited to share that due to layered mitigation efforts, the PTO can begin planning for Halloween.

In order to make these events successful, we need you! We are looking for room reps for each classroom. An email went out this week with a link to sign up. If you are interested in being a room rep and helping in your child’s classroom, please fill out the volunteer form.

Next week is the final week of our Roar and Run. We have raised over $11,000. Remember - students that raise over $50 will receive a Lions Park drawstring bag. For each $25 in donations, students will be entered into a raffle to win great prizes! Thank you to all the families who already donated. Donate through Thursday, October 7. Halloween at Lions Park

On Friday, October 29th, we will be having a Halloween Parade (outdoors and weather permitting) at 1:30 p.m., immediately followed by the classroom parties from 2:00-3:00 p.m. All parents are welcome to attend the parade, but only assigned room parents will be attending the parties. Students will have no food at the parties, so they will be masked during the entire party.

Students should not wear their costumes to school in the morning. For safety reasons, please use face paints instead of masks, and please remember, items like toy swords, guns, bats and other weapons MAY NOT be brought to school. If your child(ren) will be leaving the building during the lunch hour to prepare for this event, please complete the form at this link by 3pm on Wednesday, October 27th. Each class/grade level will be released from a specific door. More information will be shared when we know the number of students leaving. When students return at 12:50, they line up outside their morning entrance doors.

There is no need for students to go home to prepare. If students stay at school, time will be provided for them to put on their costumes.

ROAR and Run

The PTO is excited to announce the return of our Roar & Run! This will take place on October 8th. Parents should have received an email from the PTO with a direct link to their child's fundraising page.
