Calhoun's Comments (Speech RTI Info):

Did you know you can use a core board to help support learning the Word of the Week?

Using Descriptive teaching strategies, define and describe new vocabulary words using common, everyday words. For example, teach the words in italics by modeling the words in bold on the core board:

A chef is someone who MAKES food to EAT.

Or cautious means WATCH OUT.

Or emergency means WANT HELP.

This is one way to give more practice to students who are learning to use their core boards for communication! And other students benefit, too! Win-win!

November's PK Newsletter from Mrs. McKee:

November's Bilingual/ESL Elementary Newsletter:

Winter Party Planning:

It’s that time of year again!

It’s time to think about holiday crafts for your Winter Parties. Please look over the link below and choose a craft for your Winter Party (optional of course). Please choose a craft that is under $10.00 per package of 12. This will make more sense when you look at the link:

PK 3-you’ll order for your AM and PM classes. Team Leaders will collect the requests from their Teams and submit one list to Zandra by Wednesday, November 17. We want to get these ordered before we leave for Thanksgiving. After we get back may be too late.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Winter Party logistics to remember and share with your Teams:

  • We are still in a Pandemic, so all food brought from students should be individually wrapped.

  • NEW THIS YEAR: We will no longer be charging $2.00 or any amount for parties. There are very strict new money collection rules in place in the District, so we will no longer be collecting money from parents for parties. Any money collected must be tallied, deposited with Zandra with individual receipts issued to each person paying. Please only collect money with Jennifer’s approval before you move forward.

  • Am I forgetting something? Let me know and I can address any concerns that you have.

Library Update from Ms. Popkin:

Library News: During the next lesson cycle, we will read the Gingerbread Man. PK 3 classes and ECSE will have the hunt in the library. PK 4 classes will do the traditional hunt. I appreciate everyone’s help with this fun lesson!
