adapted?
The polar bear's life cycle is closely tied to the sea ice. Polar bears rely on the ice to hunt seals, breed, and in some cases to den. Without sea ice, polar bears can't survive. Polar Bears are strong swimmers and divers, an adaptation that allows them to swim from one ice floe to the next.
Global Warming
Sea ice losses from climate change is testing the swimming ability of the polar bear. Forcing bears to head ashore (where they can’t hunt seals) or to embark on longer and longer swims in search of food.
