HERO by Veteran Petty Officer Second Class Chris R. Brown

H = Honesty

E = Enthusiasm each day

R = Role Models/Responsibility for your actions

O = Opportunities/cares for Others

In November we had the privledge to honor our Veterans in our Veterans' Assembly. We had several of our 2nd grade students' family members attending and presenting. Mr. Brown was one of the veterans that we were honored to have in attendance. He presented this as part of his speech. We felt that each of our students needs to understand what a HERO is and that they can be a HERO each and everyday. We are having this printed and putting it in our hallway. We would like to thank all of our Veterans that are serving, have served, or will serve our country.

*Fluency passages or list - your child's teacher may send additional homework to help with building reading fluency. At this time it is not sent home with every student. We will begin this with entire grade level after winter break.

*Homework Math Pages - you may have noticed that we do not complete all of the pages of the math packets that come home. The last page of the packet is actually homework pages. We are not sending these home as mandatory assignments. However, they are great practice for your child. Your child may complete the pages and earn 5 starbucks for practicing math skills at home.
