POWERSCHOOL PARENT PORTAL
Greater St. Albert Catholic is pleased to announce the PowerSchool Parent Portal is open for grades 1-12. All parents should have received information on how to sign up for your child's "Powerschool Parent Portal" account. The Parent Portal will give you access to your child's attendance records, ongoing assessments/progress and end-of-term report cards. Please contact our school office if you have questions or need assistance.
CATHOLIC EDUCATION SUNDAY
We recognize Catholic education as a gift – a gift that we treasure and protect. On Catholic Education Sunday, we acknowledge the value and blessing of our Catholic schools and give thanks for the faith-based education they offer. Here in Alberta, unlike some other provinces, we are especially blessed to have a publicly-funded Catholic education. Let us continue to pray for this wonderful gift.
We celebrate the gift of Catholic Education on Sunday, November 27. Our school will be represented at the 9:00 AM Mass at Ecole Notre Dame. Please join us to celebrate Catholic Education together!
Book of Remembrance
As November is the month of Remembrance, we will be passing our Book of Remembrance from class to class in the next few weeks to record the names of our family and friends who have died. We invite students and staff to bring pictures (preferably mounted or framed) and/or small mementos of any family members or friends who have died. They will be reverently displayed and will serve as a reminder of these loved ones and our call to pray for them. Please write your child's name on the back of the picture or memento so that we can return them at the end of November.

Your Child’s Self-Talk: Positive or Negative?
Self-talk is a tool that children use to help regulate their emotions. Later in childhood, self-talk is very powerful. How a child talks to themselves about who they are can influence their confidence, behaviour, and self-esteem.
Big Life Journal has provided some great conversation starters to help you discover whether your child’s inner voice is speaking positively or negatively about themselves. With these conversation starters, you can get a glimpse of what your child’s self-talk looks like and how you can support them if their self-talk and self-esteem are taking a negative turn.
