Hello ALMS Families,
Happy Friday!
I hope everyone is doing well! This week has been a fantastic week for our school. On Thursday afternoon, we held a special dedication ceremony for renaming the Karen Johnson Library here at Albert Leonard Middle School. Mrs. Johnson's husband, Robert Johnson Sr., her son Robert Johnson Jr., daughter Anita Mahar and her three grandchildren attended the ceremony, along with a host of family members, community members, and ALMS staff. To honor her memory, Mr. Archie Manning shared a song entitled "Thankful" and the Team Joy Step Team under the direction of their Co-Advisors, Shante Dixon and Mya Ayala. We honor Ms. Johnson's memory and her impact on our school community by saying something she has been remembered for, "Choose Joy." We choose to remember her with joy in our hearts and memories of the smiles she left on the faces of her students and her colleagues.
We thank Board Trustees Margaret Bavosa and Superintendent of Schools Jonathon Raymond for their greetings and warm reflections. A special thank you to the Karen Johnson Lbrary Committee who faciliatated this beautiful event.

Boys Soccer Results
Reported by Coach Catanzaro
Yesterday the Boys soccer team took on Rye black, beating them 7-1. Timothy Yang opened up the scoring and finished the game with 2 goals and 1 assist. Julian Ward scored a screaming goal from distance and also had an assist. Jose Ayala used his incredible dribbling and ball control to score a goal and he also had 3 major assists to help push the team to a comfortable lead. The wing twins, Ethan and Aiden Shaw both scored 1 goal and both had an assist each. Finally, Giancarlo Cardenas scored his second goal of the season from the top of the box. In the back, David Lore and Edgar Lopez were an impenetrable wall that stopped the opposition dead in their tracks every time they tried to build up towards our goal. Awesome game, teamwork and chemistry from everyone on the field!
