Distance Learning Grading
May 8, 2020
After receiving the guidance from the Minnesota Department of Education on grading for the distance learning period, Adrian Middle/High School will continue to use the posted grading scale for grading in Quarter 4 (Distance Learning Period). To adjust for the amount of coursework and time (including the two-week planning period and limited time during distance learning) of actual instruction, the Quarter 3 grades and Quarter 4 grades will be weighted to an 80%/20% for calculation of the Semester 2 grade for each course.
Seniors’ final day will be May 15th. Grades for seniors will be posted on Monday, May 18. All new instruction for grades 6-11 will end on May 15th. During the week of May 18-22, students at these grade levels will complete any final assessments/projects and have the opportunity to connect with teachers/staff individually regarding coursework from the distance learning period. MS/HS staff will make every attempt to assist students who have not made adequate progress during the distance learning time to show mastery of required skills to earn a passing grade.
Credit recovery for any semester grades that are not at a passing level have a variety of options for credit recovery in the 2020-2021 school year.
