The Dragon Dash - Fun Run Info

WHEN: Friday, October 4th, 2019

WHERE: Clarkston Elementary

TIME: Groups starting at 2:00pm

Clarkston Elementary Dragons are gearing up to dash around an obstacle course and help raise money for our school! This year we will have Clark the Dragon joining us for the fun! This is CE’s MAIN FUNDRAISER OF THE YEAR and funds raised help with school events, assemblies and field trips throughout the year. All students who donate ANY amount will receive a Dragon Dash 2019 t-shirt. Obstacles, physical activity and FUN wrapped up in one day, all while supporting Clarkston Elementary.

As part of the fundraiser efforts, we hold several contests over the course of a three week period. Based on their fundraising efforts, the following classes have earned a Pajama Day for tomorrow:

Y5's/K: Fox

1st Grade: Gabbard

2nd Grade: Abel

3rd Grade: Scanlon

4th Grade: Abing

5th Grade: Fuller

We are also tracking all the states that our online donations originate from. We have received donations from 21 states so far.

The 16th Annual Elementary Race is Scheduled

  • To win we have the have a higher percentage of students attend then other schools!


4:45 to 5:30 Race number pick up (if you registered online) or
Race day registration (if you did not register online)

5:35 Grades Young 5/K - 2 Boys Race 1/2 Mile

5:45 Grades Young 5/K - 2 Girls Race 1/2 Mile

5:55 Grades 3 - 5 Boys Race 1 Mile

6:10 Grades 3 - 5 Girls Race 1 Mile

We would greatly appreciate any donations at the race to help support the Clarkston Cross Country teams.


Register online before race or register at the race. If you register online, you only need to pick up your bib number the day of the race (quick and easy). It is ok to register online even if you are not 100% sure of participating. If you register at the race, make sure you give yourself time (varies depending on the line) to complete the registration process by 5:25 and walk to the starting line.


Behind Clarkston High School next to the tennis courts. Use the driveway next to the softball/baseball fields closest to Clarkston Road.


Park on the side of the high school next to the baseball and softball fields. From the parking lot, walk down the steps toward the tennis courts.


  • Ribbons to all participants
  • Medals to the top 10 finishers in each race
  • Traveling trophy to the elementary school with the highest percentage of participants
    (number of participating runners divided by the total population of school)


If you registered online, pick up your race number from 4:45 to 5:25 at the tent. You must get your race number to participate in the race. All others will need to complete the registration process the day of the race.


View and/or print a copy of the 1/2 mile and mile course map. Members of the Sashabaw Middle School and Clarkston Junior High CrossCountry teams will run with the participants to help encourage and guide them on their way.

    Health Clinic - Flu Shots @ SMS & NSE

    Parents and Staff:

    The CCS Student Health Center will have modified hours over the next few weeks:

    October 3 the clinic will be open at SMS 9:00-11:30 & NSE 12:30-4:00

    October 4 the clinic will be closed

    October 11 the clinic will be open at SMS 7:30-11:30 (it is a half day for students)

    October 25 the clinic will be open at SMS 7:30-11:30 (it is a half day for students)

    All other remaining Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays we will be open per our usual times and locations.

    We also now have flu vaccines in for students and staff. If you are interested in the flu vaccine please fill out the clinic registration packet (include a copy of insurance card/ID) and call 248-623-8100 to set up an appointment.
